On The Move

We finally manage to moved the boat to Victoria Park, it was such a good afternoon. We sunbathed on the roof drinking Aperol Spritz and Prosecco. However, I was quite drunk by the time we got there that I didn't pay attention to where we moored the boat, so come Sunday when i went back to it, I had no idea where it was! I walked up and down the canal for a good hour. It's quite hard to explain to someone that you can't remember where you've left your house!

Leaving Angel

So the plug sockets still don't work on the boat meaning I still have to take my laptop and phone to work everyday charge it there then hope when I am back on the boat the charge lasts! An electrician is coming out on Saturday and he is also going to drive us to Victoria Park where our boat friend John is moored. I feel quite sad to be moving away from Angel and Cara but being in a new part of London is fun.

Home

I'd been on a first aider course which finished early, so I got the train back to Northampton to walk the dogs with my Mother. Home will always be where my Mum is! She is an incredible woman who keeps me sane, she is always there to guide me and she has taught me the values of life. The older I become the more I realise she truly is my best friend.

Bunting

I have now learnt how to work the hob, electrics (but no plug sockets) and fridge! Just hot water still to go. I know I will look back on this time of my life and laugh. To celebrate I have  covered the boat in bunting and fairy lights and danced around drinking prosecco.

First Attempt At Moving

So we had a traumatic experience at trying to move the boat. Cara decided that she could drive it but we were blocked in. whilst trying to move we managed to make a random boat float into the middle of the canal and had to get some random guy to come and rescue it! Our engine then cut out and we had to try float back to the side and pull it back in, resulting in us not being able to move the boat! Always some sort of drama with the boat hah.

Uprooted

I turned the engine on this morning to power my battery so I could get electricity. However, I then couldn't figure out how to stop it! In the end I had to ask the guy on the boat next to me (John) for help. Which ended up in getting eggs thrown at us and at the boat from the flats near by!

Meriner Gallery - Exhibition

My work was recently selected to be in a group exhibition at the Meriner Gallery in Southwark. The evening was a great success, really busy and such good feedback! Thank you to everyone that came and supported me. It truly did mean a lot :)

Boat Gypsy

Whilst looking for a new place to live I came across the opportunity to live on a canal boat in London. So far to date it has been a love hate relationship! Love the sunsets and tranquillity but hate the toilet situation!

The Journey

A wise woman once told me, if I just believe in myself I will have the power to over come anything and go far in life.
